The glitter and beauty of gold have attracted minds over the years. This encouraged designers to create distinctive and unique designs that fascinate minds with their details and the ingenuity of their mastery. In our article today, we will show you one of the most essential steps in the process of jewelry design. Come on, get ready. We’ll start with our ideas.
- Step 1
Gold casting process:
This step involves casting and melting 24-karat gold, which is in the form of granules of golden sand inside a smelter at high temperatures to convert it into small pieces of gold.
- Step 2 is to classify the quality:
Gold caliber is classified by adding components of silver, copper, and zinc minerals in specific proportions to the raw gold. Each caliber is determined according to the percentage of gold in it to turn into 18-21 -24-24 karats.
- Step 3 is to come up with a design:
With the help of CAD technology and technical design programs that convert graphics into professional designs such as gold ring design or pendant design and other designs, and then linked to the techniques of 3D printing systems to produce models for them, for more details you can also see the article “Design with CAD technology”
- Step 4 Wax Molds
After selecting and printing the specific design, the jewelry making process begins by placing wax patterns for each design, and then placing gypsum on it and placing it in ovens of high degrees in carved shapes according to the chosen design.
- Step 5 is forming and cutting:
After removing the molds from the oven, the molten gold is poured to take the form of carved cavities on it, then it comes out in the form of a tree made of gold designs, to begin the stage of cutting the golden pieces from the tree.
- Step 6 is to remove the appendages:
The edges and appendages of each jewelry design are removed with custom tools by eroding them to reveal the closest form of the innovative design.
- Step 7 is to install stones on designs:
This stage includes laying stones according to the holes that are previously allocated to them by cutting, and they are installed by bending the small arms to hold the lobes well to prevent them from falling.
- Step 8 polishing and painting:
This stage includes polishing processes for gold using one of the “gold polishing” techniques, which we talked about in detail in the article “All You Need to Know About Gold Coating”, to become more glamorous.
- Step 9 imprinting:
Each karat is stamped with its own type of karat, by using lasers that sculpt the karat type onto each gold piece.
- Step 10 examination and evaluation:
In quality gold design processes, a mini-sample is made to ensure the quality of the stage in its finest detail. While a final stage of inspection is performed, assessing the quality of the gold piece, and ensuring consistency of lobes and stones and the absence of any scratches in the designs are done
